Default BL Sat. 4/19

This day started out really slow for me and never really got great. Got to my first spot and there were already two other boats. Still plenty of room so I set up for a drift and picked up one or two but the action was not hot and heavy. Within 45 min. there were seven boats on this spot. Gotta love Saturdays.

I never really got on a good bite except for a bunch of rat reds. Sat there till I picked up four keepers, before the bite shut down. The lake was pretty much slick so I decided to take a ride and see if I could get on some trout. Was not able to do that but ran up on a slick and bait poppin, mid lake. Actually, I noticed it too late and blew through it full throttle. I shut it down and trolled back slowly to see what might happen. Sure enough, within a minute the bait was up again and I hooked up right away. That's the big golden red in my pic. That was my # 5, so I packed it up and called it a day. Didn't load the box, but had a blast.
