Rigolets and Pontchatrain? Good enough fishing?

I'm a relocated Slidellian and am glad that I did. I lived in Slidell for about 20 years and moved to Lake Charles for college. Ended up landing a job and have been in LC since. Living and working, hunting and fishing and loving it. I wouldn't go back to the East side of the state unless there was a job opportunity that I couldn't pass up. In Slidell in the past 3 months there have been more heroin arrest than speeding tickets, place is a $h!t hole. I'm begging my sister to get my nieces and nephew out of there. Be very informed before you make your decision, even the great schools that I went to growing up are sub par these days. It's a shame bc the place was an amzing to place to grow up in, but things just haven't been the same since Katrina.
