Fishing for Dummies
Not sure if this has ever been attempted or what kind of success this thread will have, but i would like to try anyway.
I've read thousands of complaints on here about how terrible the avg. populous of fisherman is but hardly any positive solutions to try and alleviate or lessen the occurrence of these encounters.
Im asking that some of our older wiser fisherman with years of exp. on the water take the reins and participate in a weekly AMA on a particular topic that way each week we can all learn a little more than we knew last week.
IMO i believe that even though it may seem elementary to most of you on here, we should start with very basic topics such as: Wind, Tides, Water temps/salinity/clarity, and so on. Later if this thread is still alive, maybe get into the reading of topos, fish migration, bait transitions or even a week of just how to read electronics. With my limited knowledge of trout fishing i will leave it up to the experts to pic a topic of their choice if they choose to do so and be as respectful as possible to any and all questions.
What i hope to accomplish from this thread is that fisherman (myself included) will have a better understanding and appreciation of this sport that we all care so much about. Hopefully be teaching fishing and not just relying on gps coordinates we may see a day in the future were we can go out on a body of water and make a few friends instead of wasting gas laying the 8.
Thanks in advance to all who participate, "The Potlicker".
