Went looking for some Marsh Donkey’s today and found some. Got out to my spot at about 6:45 and the tide was coming in and the water temp was about 87 to 88 degrees. The water was a little stained but wasn’t to the point of being dirty. Started throwing topwater and third cast it was on and almost every cast after that it was a hook up. Ended up putting 10 in the boat which were all tagged and released. There were 6 that ranged from 24 to 26 inches and were from 7 to 8.5 lbs. The bite started to slow so I started to throw some 3 inch gulp under that bang time cork and picked up 6 more which were in the same size range and they were tagged and released to fight another day also. As the sun got higher and hotter the bite stopped. It was good to be on the water and I thank god for the good time he provided for me today. I was fishing up north in the old river area and would like to send a shout out to The Tackle Box for the outfitting. Also got home to find out I had a broken hook on my topwater.
P.S. If I would have had a good top water rod I wouldn’t have missed some of them blow ups and would have put more fish in the boat I think. Some of the photos had hands in them and I have been playing with one of the new picture editing tools so that is why they look a little fuzzy.
