Before you get to the island there is a road on your right that takes you to Elmers Island. Try there before the state park. People have been doing well there the last few weeks.

No driving or parking on the beach at GI !!! $500 fine.
You can drive on the beach at elmers island. There is a charge to get into the state park. $1 per person I would fish some of the rocks just west of the park first, as the gate to the park does not open until 7 am.. |

the rocks along the beach can all hold fish they start at the state park and go a pretty good ways down the island. Fish the points on each one also try trowing back towards the beach when you wade out there. You cant drive on the grand isle beach but you can drive on the elmers island beach. The is a sign on hwy 1 the shows the road to take you to elmers island. Fishing is also good there. some times the trout will be right at the beach in just a few inches of water and sometimes they will be past the second sandbar. Be alert because boats run down the beach and most run far out but if you are wading deep they may not see you. I have never heard of anybody getting hit but I wouldnt want you to be the first. double rigged sparkle beetles work good also double rigged cocahoes, topwater baits, and silver spoons. Good luck and post a report when you get back.

Thanks for the info. I drove down the beach on Elmers one afternoon last year. It took me to the pass, so I reckon I might try around there one evening.
