What about crane work in the gulf right now? I've been running cranes on land now for over 5 years both friction and hydraulic and I've been seriously considering going offshore. Does anyone know of any companies looking for crane operators?

If your a "Green Hand" they probably will not give you a first or second look. I seriously doubt any company is going to take a chance on someone without years of experience over seas. Could be wrong, have been before.

As an alternate, look into going to work at the plants (refineries, chemical and gas). Also, look into pipeline inspection companies. Company I work for "Sulzer Chemtech" does work in the 3 areas I mentioned; however, we only deal with the equipment in side the towers. We do have a field group but it only deals with boilmaker work and if you are a code welder. Our buisness is really increasing which means all the other parts of plant buisness are increasing too! Good luck!
