Cheers Me and Dad Lake Robin 10/2

Decided that me and Dad were gonna make the run this morning. Got in a little late this morning but went straight to me and Eman's lucky spot from yesterday.

Dad's never fished saltwater before so, I got him rigged up with some Gulp and told him to give it hell! I'm riggin up and two seconds later, something was giving him hell! First cast, first Spec!!! Netted for him and told him to go for cast two! Two seconds later, more hell!...I haven't even got a jig threaded yet! Got the net and up comes a beautiful red!<----That's him and you'll see it in the pics! Keep in mind, this fight took about 3-4 minutes and involved some serious spooling! He was LOVIN IT!!

Well, I got in finally and put a spec on board and a flounder. Fell slack after that. Moved to another location and I managed to put two more on board, both solid trout! I hooked into a HUGE drum that ran me like crazy for a few minutes and came off at the edge of the boat. Dad was disappointed but, I wouldn't have kept it anyway. The bite DIED after that. The wind was howling and the SS Backbreaker was living up to it's name so, we decided to call it.

I wish we could have caught a few more, for my dad's sake but, he was tickled to say the least. This is handsdown one of the funnest (non-alcohol) days that Dad and I have had in a long time! A special thanks to my paudna Eman for making today's trip a success by showing me around yesterday!!!

I bet your dad did have a blast. Reminds me of fishing with my dad when I was younger.

I had more fun in the first five minutes of fishing than I've had in a long time, fishing or not!

The addiction has begun!!!! Those specs are FUN!!!

Side note: All fish were caught on 4" natural shrimp and 4" nuclear chicken Gulp.

I guess I'm not the only one who drove to Hopedale to catch a few fish! I went this morning, I brought my dad, ended up having motor problems and fished close to the MRGO and Bayou La Loutre, we ended up catching 2 reds 2 specks and a flounder

Man, I woke up at 4 this morning and the first thought through my mind was, the boat is still hooked up! Saltwater is infectious!!!

I can see a LOT of money and time going into this! Lol! I have a boatload of learning to do about these fish. I grew up fishing bass ponds and below a dam so, the open water and different species are definitely gonna be a fun, sometimes frustrating experience.

Eman, again, thanks a million!!! Our trip plus Dad's first trip will always stay with me and, yes, we'll do it again soon!
