Default Lake Charles/I-10 Beach 10-23,24,25,26-12

Haven’t posted in a couple of days because I have been real busy. Busy enjoying the great outdoors. I started off Tuesday morning hunting on the lease looking for some tree rats and finding a nest of them and the old 16 guage gave out on me so I called it over headed to the house hooked up to the boat got out on the water and headed to Lake Charles to find I caught the tail end of the bite. Hit the water wednesday and Thursday morning with a buddy of mine from work and told him we needed to start in Lake Charles by the I-10 beach. Both days we had a limit and back at the Prien Park launch for 10:00 am. Today I did a solo trip and ended up with 12 trout and 4 reds would have tried to tough it out but the wind was picking up and I was feeling drops of rain so called it a day.

All fish ever day have been caught with only a couple of lures. Topwater has been the spook saltwater clown, spook red head and baby trout skeeter walk. Plastic has been 1/4 oz an 1/8 oz jig head with either the motor oil, natural, and glow chart jerk jr. and also the popping cork with the blue moon TKO shrimp under it. The water is gin clear and around 75 to 76 degrees.

If you go get there early all the days I have been there have been three guide boats loaded with people heading to the same area and pulling on location right around day break. I have been getting there before sun up and watch them pull in. If you don't have a boat you could walk the I-10 beach and picked some fish up didn't want to cross the buoys but if they wouldn't have been there I would have been a lot closer to the beach.

Ray I seen you out there today give me a call I didn’t know you were in and we can start hitting them together next week should be good.

Good times, we need to get out a little earlier next time. Gotta love what all those birds bring with them. Haven't seen that many birds in Lake Chuck that actually produced anything other than lady fish in a while.

I may go try to wet some line on our way to Texas tomorrow. The beach you can walk to is the south side right before the bridge or am I thinking or something else.

That is where they were. Don't know if the fish are still there after these fronts

They were there a few days after the last front, then disappeared from the beach after a few days.

I went anyway just to kill some time. The reds were too small but did get one with two spots.
