I know its the wrong time of year because it tends to get a little more brackish in this area, but does the bass fishing ever get productive in any of that marsh or swampy canals around the bayou patout area? Like in the spring or early summer?

Actually this is a good time of year. In weeks bay and shark bayou when the cold fronts start coming through it pushes the bass out of the shallow areas into holes in the canal. You can usually find them in the first hole closest to the flats in the back of the canals.
I haven't been back in the Patout canals specifically for bass but I am positive that they are there and get little fishing pressure. The technique above should work back there too. The water is still a bit warm for this now though. |
