From the looks of the forecast Saturday was going to be a blowout but with a strong south wind the plan was to find a protected bank. It was sort of a bumpy ride out at daylight and we arrived on location barely able to use the trolling motor. The water looked fishable but I knew we had a tiny window of opportunity. The lunar table indicated a feeding period until 7:30 but that would be lessened with the increasing winds. Our first stop produced zilch throwing plastic double rigs. Next stop we found some white trout and slowly the speckled trout made an appearance. Much slower than previous days, I'd say we were catching one every 3-5 minutes. Sure enough, like clockwork the trout disappeared and we did not get a bite after 8:00. We ran from place to place hoping something would be willing to have a snack, but it was futile. When the weather is good we are catching limits but any major change in weather will be a struggle.
