Set out mid afternoon from Lafayette, got stuck in traffic on I-10 and put in at Calcasieu Point at 5:30 PM. Water in Turners was mucky and headed south, water got prettier the further south we went. Stopped and fished birds at Comm Pt., but trout were small. Ended up going to south bank out of the wind and fished till dark. Wife caught a small red, we each caught good sized spadefish (a first for us in the lake), then fished birds until dark thirty and got back to landing about 9:30, home at midnight. No box shot, but we caught half a dozen nice trout.

Those aren't spadefish buddy, they're sheepshead. Good eating fish though.

Looks like fun times, had by all. That I-10 traffic was thick this weekend.
