The Roux (Cooking/BBQ/Recipes) What good is a cajun site without a cooking and recipe forum?

Default Icy Cold and Chili Too!

It was a bitter cold one this morning so rather than get up at 5:00am I decided to sleep til about 6:30am. Had a cup of coffee and checked the windshield which was totally iced over. I stsrted the engine and cranked the defroster to HOT and let it run while I finished getting ready to go to 8:00 mass. After that first trip outside I started thinking about some hot spicy chili. Made a stop at Rouse's to pick up a few things and cooked up a good pot of chili for dinner.
Meat browned with onions and bell peppers

Tomatoes and sliced jalapenos added

Beans added and simmered until just right

Time to eat a bowl with a lil bit of sour cream, diced onions, sliced serrano peppers and a lil shredded cheddar cheese.

Hit the spot!
