Will be fishing around the Cameron area Thursday and Friday. One of the days we will be surf fishing for reds but looking for ideas for the other day. How's the crabbing this time of year? I promised the wife we would do something other than surf fish the whole time. If I can round up the rest of the gear we may try for some flounder also. Thought about going to check out the new wharfs on Price Lake rd. Also is there a tackle store in Hackberry or Cameron? Thanks for any info..J

I know the Exxon station in Hackberry has some tackle and also the hardware store next door. There's a convenient store on the right side around Carlyss on 27 that has a good selection.

That's it, thanks bro. They also have a certified scale so you can weigh the state record trout after you catch it.

You can always catch Reds at the rocks between Holly Beach and Constance Beach.
Just bring Gulp or something that smells if water is muddy. |

This is true. I've seen people catching reds off the beach in the nastiest brown water on cut bait. Couldn't believe it, was like 2-3 ft. waves and they were catching some nice reds.

We've fished the beach between Holly and Cameron but have never fished west of Cameron. We have caught some nice bulls in really crappy water conditions off of that beach. We always use mullet except for our last trip. Fished all day with cracked crab and didnt do squat. Our son caught the only bull of the day right before we left using a finger mullet I caught in a cast net.lol
