Lowrance Mapping

I know this has been covered a little, but not in the detail in looking for. My current HDS maps show me running on land quite a bit in the bay and especially around dularge.

Any recommendations on a card that will be detailed enough to get me out to the reefs south of marsh island safely, And allow me detailed mapping when going over to dularge and west to big lake and Sabine?

Also, I want something that will not slow my unit down...

Navionics?

The fella that makes them for certain areas, and just load a different chip for where I'm headed?

A download?

$500 reef map for the bay?!

I have the HDS Touch 7.. Try UR zoom feature.. and I may help.. I also have a custom Verm. Bay chip from standard map..

I also purchased a navionics platnium chart.

Im not crazy about this touch screen on the fish-finder side of it..

Its very complicated to learn and I have not been able to find a setting that would give marking fish...

I feel the Lowrance transom mounted transducer is its weakest link..

I may purchase an after marker transducer such as a AIRMAR..

May get better results from it..

I had awesome furnerno 2500' color deptfinder. That was awesome that I took off my boat.. It marked fish down to 300' with no problem wile running on auto..

Standard mapping chip for the areas you fish.

Yeah, i have the standard map as well. For reefs I find it really accurate.

We ended up drifting on to some reefs in the pass. To get out I had to use the map, worked really well.

I've got an older Lowrance and looking to upgrade... what would you be looking at if you were starting from scratch?

We fish Cocodrie area, and would like to get out to islands without sinking...
