Default What are you cooking for Thanksgiving Day???

I know about all the traditionals, is there something special that you and your family cook?

Our Thanksgiving Dinner is "Oysters"

Raw, Bienville, Rocerfeller, Oyster Spaghetti, Duck and Oyster Gumbo, Oyster Casserole and fried!

hopefully oyster dressing is on our menu. my grandmother makes a killer one she said the key is using the juce from the oysters instead of water

My wife volunteered me to fry turkeys for her family. Only problem is I've never done it!! I've always held the pan for my old man.

The 2 things I look forward to is my mom's green bean casserole and my grandma's jambalaya.

Ya'll making me hungry!
My sister and I are doin' the duties.

Pot roasted doves
Vermicelli rice
brandied sweet potato casserole
cornbread dressing with venison sausage
baby lima beans
pork roast stuffed deboned turkey

dessert!!!!!!
my fig pie (sweet dough)
sister's pecan pie
aunt's coconut pie

couple the desserts with a large pot of dark roast coffee......nap time!

Well at our house it's the traditional Turkey, Rice Dressing, string beans, sweet potato cassorle, Mac & Cheese, and Ima probably do a few duck ka bobs and maybe a roast as well.

I got one of those Oil free Turkey Fryers for my birthday this year so I'm going to shoot em up with some juice and give it a whirl... alot of people have told me how tasty they are... cant wait!!

The oilless fryers work great. Just make sure and check your temps all over the bird. May need to flip the bird during cooking.

I will be doing a slow smoked turkey with applewood, a boston butt, and we will have enough sides to feed Ethiopia.

Haha - I'll just take your word on the stuffed cow tongue!! Chaudin on Thanksgiving is a tradition. I'll give up the turkey before I give that up!!

Think of the best most tender roast you have ever eaten. Cow tongues is like that but better! Sounds gross, but very delicious!

Frying couple turkeys and pork loins for employees right now and it is smelling right. Not much work going on with the north breeze blowing the smells across the yard.

Got a buddy who is viet nam war ex pat who lives in Thailand. He says he has to pay $50 us for a frozen butter ball turkey ,if he can find one.
