3-28-12 False River

Hit the river for the afternoon after work. Fished from about 3 til dark, had two bites on a crank bait off some of the only "natural" bank left out there. Real slow at first trying to fish a worm, switched to a crankbait and the VERY first cast (blind cast to stretch out my line) landed me this pretty 5 pounder. Second cast in the same spot, I foul hooked about a 5 foot gar in the tail, thought I had found the honey hole til I seen it was a gar, it took me for one hell of a ride, haha.

Na, came pretty close. Fought him for about 15 minutes, finally put the tail onto the back of the boat, reached down to grab him by the tail and drag him the rest of the way up and he gave one last kick and threw my crankbait
