Easiest way in may be to find a headhunter, post your resume on rigzone & careerbuilder.

Log in every week or so and send it to a few more places. where do you want to work?

I got an offer from D&C a couple years back to go to Angola, Africa and was informed I would be responsible for my own health coverage on my days off and I would be a 1099 employee. I just laughed at the dude and told him to find someone dumber than I.

As an alternate, look into going to work at the plants (refineries, chemical and gas). Also, look into pipeline inspection companies. Company I work for "Sulzer Chemtech" does work in the 3 areas I mentioned; however, we only deal with the equipment in side the towers. We do have a field group but it only deals with boilmaker work and if you are a code welder. Our buisness is really increasing which means all the other parts of plant buisness are increasing too! Good luck!
