Made a trip this morning. When I got there I was worried because the water was so low. I didn't know what I was going to do. All my regular spots where high and dry. I hit a few spots with no luck at all. I was scratching my head then I decided to ride around and see if I could find some fish. Went into little lake hoping to find some birds with no luck, rough and real windy too. Went north to the flats near some deeper drop offs and fished the deeper canals going into the marsh. Found oyster flats LOADED with fish. 3 limits of reds within an hour then just catch and release while filling the box with drum, sheephead and the occasional speck. Ended the day with 15 reds, 15 drum 20 sheephead that I gave away at the dock and 12 specks. Pretty good day after all. Makes me like my small boat because I could never have fished the places I went today in a big boat.

That sounds like a good day on the water! Don't think I'll keep another sheephead. They eat great but it seems like a lot of waste when I filleted the last one.

Fillet sheephead from the tail to the head. Easier and get more meat that way. Very good eating fish. Nice white meat and mild. Sometimes I boil sheephead in water with crab boil taste just like crab meat.

The tail to head works good on redfish also, Alot easier going under the scales instead of through them.
