Got a friend that has a 20' tunnel with a 2001, I think, 40 Yamaha 4 stroke. It has a Powertech 14, from what we can see on the prop. He wants to try another prop. He is looking for something to get up quick and carry a load in the marsh.
Suggestions? |

I ran a 99 model 40hp Merc 4 stroke for a while. It had the Yamaha carbbed 3 cylinder powerhead on it. The best prop we found for marsh fishing was an 11" diameter, 11 pitch PowerTech with vent holes. It was a rocket on launch and ran very well.

Only way to tell for sure is to install a tach to see how many rpm's the motor is turning. Also make sure the motor height is correct....prop shaft needs to be inside the tunnel.

I prefer a 3 blade with heavy cup added.....Call the prop shop in lafayette ask for Cade,he does all the prop work.
