Are the crowds really that bad on Big Lake? I have only been twice but neither time was crowded. Actually last time there was only one other truck at Heberts.

Sometimes YES

When the fishing is good.....that really brings out the extra boaters. I have only fished on weekends a few times in the pasted couple of years, to avoid the crowds. Even during the week, there can be a fair amount of boats out on the lake.

When you pull up to a Big Lake boat launch on a Tuesday morning, and there are 25 trailers already there.......and there are 7 other launches with easy access to the area....there will be a lot of boat on the water. And then there are the 75 guides [est. number] that could be out there.

I met my brothers neighbor a couple of weeks ago and it seems his family has place on the channel, evidently his family fishes there quite often. He may fish next years tourney.
