I'd go with the GoPro silver if I were you. The session is nice but you are limited with Battery Life due to the battery being internal. You'd hate to be filming a fun day and have the battery die mid morning and miss the afternoon bite!
Also, I like the silver more because you have a LCD screen on it, so you can see what you're filming and you can easily change settings with the screen. I have had every model go pro and I think your best bet is with the Silver model with a few extra batteries you can order online. |

I have the Intova Edge X and love it, waterproof, wifi, lcd screen easy to operate buttons plus more and the price is right around 209.00. I paid a little more and got a lot of mounts, spare battery, 32gb micro card, bag and other stuff ordered off of amazon. Some underwater footage no color correction watch in hd http://youtu.be/YyW9NaxYtEo enjoy.

The silver is all you need. That and some extra batts and the biggest memory chip you can afford. It's best to roll them all day, you catch a lot more interesting footage. The battery back packs are ok; can do just as well with changing the batteries multiple times. I've ran the battery back packs and it reduces how many times you have to change batts.
Set it on 720p for the longest battery life and capture the most on the card. Anything above 720p is still overkill since HD on the majority of computer screens is still 720p. Yes there is better resolution in 1080 but the increase takes up a lot more card space. So unless it's a professional product in mind the 720 is plenty sharp. I have shot just about everything in 720p. |
