Default beach with strong north wind

Looks like a North wind friday and saturday. Is 10mph north too strong? Gonna be in hackberry friday and thinking about giving it a shot for the first time.

Should be perfect for clearing up the surf. Sunday morning should have the best conditions if the North wind holds true.

Bull after bull this past Friday with a stiff NE wind and a low tide. Cracked crab off the 4th set of rocks heading west from Holly Beach. Wasn't very clear at all though even with the N wind.

We've learned to be happy with what the day hands us, and the bull reds have been plentiful this year. We just finished up an awesome dinner of grilled redfish po-boys and a couple of days ago enjoyed redfish parmesan.

I am in Hackberry for my annual fishing trip starting tomorrow. When you all talk about fishing the beach after a north wind, how close to shore do you get and how do you fish it? I have fished the jetties but never close to the beach.

Thanks for info. I tried for flounder by 4 corner of old river and nothing. Fish were probably there but my skill level is low. Made a run to grand weir and caught birds working, caught lot of dinks but no keepers. Not enough shrimp at weirs worth working that hard for and not gonna fight the boats to try for reds at weirs. Day 1 of 6 and not a keeper. Rain tomorrow but I have 5 days left. Any advice would help. Thanks

Any restrictions on building a fire out there and where you can set up camp?

As far as I know you can pitch a tent at any of the public accesses. As far as the fire I'm not sure. According to this thread the whole beach was on fire at one point

Sorry I couldn't offer more than a laugh. It's gonna be chilly so we gonna light one up and wait for the Cajun riviera volunteer fire dpt to make us put it out.
