Awesome! We started to head out on the 2nd and I got a call from a bud fishing the JB rigs w/in 12 miles. He said they couldn't get a bite and said the water didn't look so hot. How far out did you make it to find 'em? Always fun mixing it up and heading off to the rigs to take down some trout. Were ya'll using shrimp? Got pics?

Sure guys. Go to EI 74 and throw some live mullets, croakers, on grunts on a Carolina rig and hold on. I have never caught that many big trout in one day. I got pics on my iPhone but still trying to figure out how to post them. But I can say this, 58 specks filled up 8 gallon bags of fillets. Could only fit around 12-13 per bag. Live mullets worked best but they did like the croakers and grunts to

GRRRRRRRR After reading this post I decided to give it a try last night. For some reason I decided that the best way to run was out of the Calumet Cut down the Wax. (It looks good on the maps!) Wrong answer. I have duck hunted out of the wax all my life I figured it would be an easy run just head on out and keep on going south past the Eugene Islands and cut left towards the platforms. NEVER NEVER try that. It took me two hours to get across with the dang sand bars and into the channel. I ended up at EI 57 and the water was very fresh and dirty. Started heading out deeper and it was getting later and later after the mess crossing the bay so I just said screw it and headed in down the river, cut across the Intercoastal back to the Cut to pick up. I will NEVER attempt to go out of the Wax again! I will only run the river it is just to big a PITA to do it any other way. I am no Newbee I have run this area all my life but this is my first trip across the bay that way. I have to say to anyone who is even thinking about doing something like that. DON'T DO IT!

Also took a nice piece out of my skeg, chewed up my prop and wore all the paint off. Anyone have any good recommendations on who to use to repair the skeg and a price?
