More insurance advice from the collision guy...
Read your auto insurance policy closely!
Please, for your sanity and, wallet, take the time to understand your auto coverage. Twice in the last two weeks, I have seen accidents not paid due to "excluded driver" clauses. If you aren't sure if there are excluded drivers on your policy, first make sure that potential person doesn't get behind the wheel of your vehicle. Second, contact your agent to find out if you have these types of clauses in your policy. If you don't have an agent because you "saved" 15%, get an agent and, cancel your policy with the computer crowd!
These two wrecks I speak of start at $4500 in repairs. The second was an 8 month old Toyota Camry that had over $16k in repairs. The insurance companies are paying not one red cent on either claim! Just think, the $16k repair is clearly a total loss but, the lady only has 52 more months to pay on a totaled vehicle now!...She saved $20/mo by doing exclusions. That's gonna take a while to pay off.
In short, know your policy inside and, out! Get a good agent too! It could save you a helluva lot more than 15%!!
