Default Ramah

Anyone Got a report on south Ramah??
Thinking about putting on the waders tomorrow and making an afternoon trip for some bream and sacalait along the levee??
Thinking about the area around the levee sheet piling?

Went last weekend caught 13 sacalait and 4 bream before game warden passed by and started writing tickets for trespassing. There was probably 15-20 vehicles out there and he wrote everyone a ticket. I always assumed the no trespassing signs were for riding on top the levee. According to the warden all the property on the west side of the levy is private. Still have not called to see how much the ticket is. Sucks that was one of my favorite places to fish without hauling the boat.

Yeah....the water is public but the land is not. Warden told me it was always private but they never enforced it till recently. Cattle farmer got tired of people tearing up the property mud riding four wheelers and trucks.

I could not agree more.....there is barley any spots to fish without a boat anymore. I grew up fishing and camping along the levy in henderson, same story there.

You know I'm not trying to start no mess or steal this thread but i used to work for a state department and had to personally pick up trash left behind by fisherman and particularly crabbers at public piers and bank fishing areas. It amazes me that people seems to ignore what a privilege it is to be ALLOWED to fish on the bank in places such as the levee. At some point after tens of thousands of dollars have been spent to keep places clean something has to be done, such as shutting down places where ppl are accustomed to fishing.

The comment about you cant fish anywhere without a boat is spot on. Before long nobody will be able to bank fish due to the trashy ppl that don't think about others. However, a flat boat used is about $200. A 40 lbs trolling motor and battery is $200. So for around $400 you can cheaply fish out of a boat everywhere you used to bank fish.
