Default Henderson 6-3-2012

Made my first trip of the year to Henderson. The water is dropping fast and all the boat traffic and work is turning up the water some.

Started the day in the 5 points area throwing a black/gold buzz bait. By 730 I had 10-15 blow ups and 3 keepers with the best one around 2.5lbs. Lost 2 other solid keepers right at the boat before throwing on a trailer hook (I am a little slow). Caught 3-4 13-13.5" fish after putting on the trailer and was hooking just on the trailer but by 9AM the bite slowed down. Caught a few more short fish on a mix of soft plastics from 9-11.

Headed back to Fourdouche area and hooked into a couple choup's but didnt land either. However, I talked to a guy who had 6 keepers. Said he was using a senko in the flats but his bit turned off as well.

Headed to the Amaco but the water was too shallow for my liking. Tried the Butte La Rose canal but again a little too shallow.

Hit a few points in the South Bigeaux area without any luck and then returned to the 5 points area and caught a couple short fish on a black/blue double Colorado spinner bait. Ended the day around 145 with 3 keeper bass, 2 google eye, 1 goo and a more short strikes and hooked fish that were lost than I care to mention. All in all not a bad day.

Thanks for the report. Water is going to get lower. Should pick up a bit more action.
