I work on the LA1 expansion project between Fourchon and Leeville and we have a subcontractor working on the approach in Fourchon. Its not as closure but may slow you down some. There may be something between Fourchon and GI but its clear up to Fourchon.

If your going to GI from Lafayette you can always go through Houma and take the Bourg-Larose hwy. Its not to
complicated but if you need the specifics pm me and I can give you the directions.

Man why were you going threw all the small towns? Cross the Larose bridge take the right hand turn go down two blocks and you are on the truck route to 3235 Besides that LA 1 is just as fast as hwy 308 as long as you don't go threw Matthews between 3:00 pm and 6:00pm on weekdays. Just watch for a rough patch about 1 to two miles down 3235. You need to be in the left hand lane. You will see all the patches on the road and it is super rough in the right lane.

I've always gone on 308..... never looked at a map till today when I heard about the road closure.......I don't know how long that hwy has been there, but I've been wasting ALOT of time!
