I've never had a Tundra but they look good. I love my Titan though, its a 2005 crew cab and I still smile everytime I jump into it.

Yep, their looks is the only reason I want one. I can't afford fuel for those Titans.

Default New ride

My son has a Tundra and loves it. Had a Chevy Z-71 for 5 or so years before the Tundra, but feels as though this is a much better ride. Pulls a 22 foot Robalo bay boat all over and the torque is great on this truck and gas mileage is better. I've been in it once and it does have a pretty smooth ride.

I know a dude that has an '08 that gets 17 mpg. It's a 4WD so a 2WD should get a little better.

What's the mileage difference in a Tundra and Tacoma? Is yours a 6 cyl?

My uncle has a tundra crew max with the 5.7...that think is a beast! Very smooth ride and lots of room in the back seat. We always take it up north to the deer lease cause it has so much room and very comfortable. On the other hand, the tacoma is a nice truck too. I went to big lake with meaux in his a couple times....can hardly tell the boat is back there.

I have a 08 tundra double cab with the 5.7, i dunno about now but at the time the 5.7 was only a thousand bones more and got better mileage due to the 6 speed tranny vs the 5 speed. I find the 5.7 has plenty of torque (I have no problem pulling a 40 hp kubota 4x4 with front end loader and tiller) and gets 13 mpg while pulling it. I average 18 mpg on a daily basis, and get between 19-21 mpg on the highway. The double cab has about the same room as a dodge quad cab and a 6.5' bed vs the crew max's 5' or 5.5' bed (which is why i wanted the double cab for the bigger bed). The tacoma was just too small for what I do with my truck imho.

I have a '04 tacoma pre-runner 4-door with the TRD package..... Almost 150,000 on it and its still rolling strong. its the 6cyl and i get about 17-18 normally, highway is around 20-21.... It has the locking rear differential that has got me out of bind more than once.....and works really well for launching boats. If your getting a 2wd i would make sure it has this. Thinking back i don't remember changing anything but the battery......
