Default Turners Bay 10/27/2010 & 10/28/2010 w/pics

With finals coming up at McNeese, this would be my last weekend to get out and fish even though it was really cold. Ice was built up on my windshield when I got up so I layered up pretty good with clothes.

Saturday 10-27-2010:
Tide was not moving at all until noon. Got in Turners Bay at 8:00am and there were very few boats and not many birds. Me and a buddy were both workin Jerk Jr's and picked up 6 trout by 9:00am then it slowed down for us. Decided to run down to a spot in Choupique Bayou and try to pick up some reds and had no luck. Ran down the salt ditch to where water was pouring out of the marsh and picked up 2 nice reds pretty quick. It was about 10:45am at this time and we decided to call it a day. So we ended with 6 trout and 2 redfish which I cooked for dinner.

Sunday 10-28-2010:
Tide was at a standstill again, decided to try and get a little more sleep so me and my buddy didnt get out to Turners until 9:15am. Wind was ESE at 9mph and picked up pretty good through noon. Had birds working most of the day. We were both working Jerk Jr's again and caught trout in and out of the birds. Caught our 2man limit by 11:30 and pretty much all we were catching were keepers. I think we only caught a couple undersize that we had to throw back. Ended the day by catching 1redfish that was 15inches and I tagged it and let it go. Definately had a fun time and look forward to getting back out on the water after these next 2 busy weeks with school.

I agree with Jedi, great trip, great report, great pics.
That should make your studying a little easier.
Good luck on your finals.
Did the color seem to matter on the Jrs?

Thanks! This is actually the first report I've done even though I lurk around here often. I was using the Holo LSU color and my buddy "Andrew E" was using the opening night color. Both colors caught just about the same amount of fish at the same times. We both used the same lure for the whole day and I used the same one yesterday too. Very durable.
