Default Jan 9th Report (Hwy 1)

Me and a few guys went down to Hwy 1 simply cause everybody told us not to. I don’t like folks telling me I can’t catch fish, or I won’t or its too cold, etc. It was cold 25º according to the truck with about a 17mph wind. 5 casts, wrap your hand around a hand warmer for a few minutes then repeat. Ended up with 12 reds and 10 trout. This pick was from our fist stop at about 9:45am. Fish bit from when we got there at 7am so all the talk about having to wait till the water warmed up in the afternoon etc. Fish are more resilient than we think. I did see a few dead fish; mostly ribbon fish, croaker, and white trout.

That looks like it was worth the trouble there. That will make a friends and family get together there. Looking at the stringer makes my arms twitch.

There was a Kayak dealer at the boat show in LC. He was from Beaumont.
