Haha I saw that earlier today. That looks to be a pretty good sized gator. A few years back my dad and me were frogging in my piroux and saw a big boy swimming across the cove we were in. Needless to say we gave him all the room he wanted. Wasn't wanting that fight.lol

that video is going viral. I saw it on reddit.com before seeing it locally.
Definitely looked to be a big gator. I hate how so many people are saying it was fake |

The people saying it is fake only experience with a gator is watching Swamp People. I have had many gators on jugs and the majority are pulled up the same way. They are calm for the first few seconds until they realize they are hooked. I saw on another site that the jug was not his. They had been watching it swim around and decided to see what was on it. Lesson learned do not check other peoples jugs.

it kind of looked fake cause of the way the gator didn't react when it was pulled up, but you can tell that it was moving when he first started pulling the jug, and them emotions and reactions were not fake, that kayak was just about on step getting out of there

Gators don't always thrash around because they'll normally swallow the hook and it will be stuck in their gut. So when you pull on it its pulling on the stomach and they'll just float up because of the pain.

We run jugs from a kayak 6-12 times a year. Never hooked a gator. One just takes care to get a look at what is there before getting too close. It's not unlike saltwater fishing where one doesn't get too close until you are sure it isn't a shark or a stingray. Until you see it, assume it can hurt you. No big deal, just standard operating procedure.
