Thistle,,,,,Chadron.....The stalk is edible....Peel off outer skin and chop in salad...

That crap gets thick this time of year. Had about a 3 ft tall one in the yard. Big ole Bull Thistle. That's the most common one around here, or at least the one I see the most. Actually a real pretty flower. Butterflies, especially swallowtails, seem to really like them.
