Default Miami corp - 7/11 morning trip

Went out with my dad this morning to the frontside of the burns. Caught on bubblegum colored worms and junebug baby brush hogs. It was really hot without any breeze out there after the sun got up. We kept 15 with 6-7 throwbacks. Should have made him clean them since he caught more than me. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1405107069.668576.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1405107098.051694.jpg

Possibly an airboat. They use them on the other side of hwy 27 pretty regular. But let me know. I would love to watch that chase, especially with someone who hasn't ran the trails that often. They might catch you high and dry in a field of lilies or canes.

But honestly, I don't think the law enforcement is ever in there. Maybe they patrol after it closes for duck season in August.

There used to be a guy in a tunnel hull with a 60 or 70 tiller outboard that checked people. This was 20 years ago probably.

That's what I was getting at. They can run something that big but nobody else can lol. I saw a guy running a big 4 stroke honda in the canals on the lake misere side a few years ago.

His name was Charlie Pettifer. He worked for Miami and ran from Hwy 27 all the way to the superior canal in that boat. He was looking for non-permitted fishermen and over sized HP boats. He was an old guy with a ton of energy.

My dad still talks about him almost every time we go out. Apparently he was always out there back in the day.

I have never seen an actual map. The permit just has the stickers and the restrictions. I have searched online but haven't come up with anything definitive. I think it goes south from intercoastal and from hwy 27 east. I am not sure of the far eastern boundary. North of the intercoastal is Cameron prairie and Lacassine refuge. West of hwy 27 is off limits to fishing. I think it goes east past lake Misere and grand lake but not sure after that.

It also covers other Miami properties like the marshes and canals off of the superior canal east of grand chenier mentioned in a post last week

I have never been over that far. Coming from lake Charles, Gibbstown bridge launch is the closest to me. I wonder how much traffic the different areas of the marsh get. If I am out on the weekend, the most I have ever seen is 4-5 other trailers at the south gibbstown launch and maybe 12 at the north launch. Most days I am the only one. But there are plenty of areas to get away from everyone out there.
