Default 5/3/14 Learn the DU and catch fish too!

A beautiful morning in Dularge today. Geoff Howell from the website was interested in learning some areas to increase his catches so I jumped on his boat this morning while Geoff's parents jump on Capt. Marty's boat. We headed into Lake Mechant to a reef holding a ton of bait fish. I can't say we laid the hammer down but the trout we were picking up were hammers so we stuck with it until the bite became nonexistent. We worked around the lakes as I showed Geoff different areas to fish according to wind direction and time of year. Most produced at least one fish if not a handful although we did hit one point that gave up 15 plus fish. It was a consistent bite all day which made for a great box of fish while I think Geoff and Jeanne gained the knowledge that will pay off for years to come. Beautiful weather, catching fish, plenty of laughs, and learning made for a great day on the water. Shrimp Creole Matrix under a cork and the Green Hornet tight lined did the damage. Thanks Capt. Marty for running the second boat and showing them a great time.

Nice job Capt. I might have to book a trip with you like that one day. I've been wanting to learn Lake Merchant.
