Don't think so. Think it's all linked to CPU. I could be wrong. Is it a standalone meter or is it in sequence with rest of digital displays?

My buddys is same way, when the key is on the hour meter is running. He has his radio and electronics all hooked up to key switch. He always listens to his radio when not running all the while putting hours on the hour meter. If you leave key on even when not running then hour meter is turning.
