Cheers Dularge Reds & Trout 4-5-13

BISSO Marine came into The Reel Inn Lodge last night. Chef Rickie Daigle cooked up an amazing meal for us. Beef tenderloin w/ rolls, crawfish cheesecake w/ toast points, crawfish, mushroom,& andouille cream w/ bow-tie pasta, applewood bacon wrapped duck w/ blackberry reduction, spinach, feta, toasted walnuts, & strawberries w/ a strawberry vinegarette, bread pudding w/ a whiskey pecan sauce, and an assorted dessert tray. Incredible as everyone was amazed, and raved how good everything was. After a great night and sleep everyone woke up to a big breakfast. We pulled out of the lodge around 7 as the wind blew over 20mph all night. We hit the ponds and immediately had some hefty reds pulling drags. TTF KFMS in black/chart, Geaux Glow, and Marsh Works in-line spinners worked over the reds. A few lost trout made their way into the box also. Low water and strong winds made for a tough day. We made it back to the Lodge and Chef Rickie had jambalaya, white beans, fried fish, and peach cobbler and ice cream prepared. Just doesn't get any better. Calmer winds tomorrow, look out speckled trout!! Big thanks to Capt Travis Miller for running the second boat. Special thanks to chef Rickie and all our customers.
