Think it's ok to clean my shotgun with vegetable oil? I'm in a bind...

I would break it down and pat it dry and asap oil it with REM oil

veg oil will gum up. DO NOT!! put in on guns, reels, etc

olive oil is fine! That's what old timers used on their muzzle loaders

Not supposed to oil inside barrel of muzzle loaders. Causes burnt powder to gum up. Oil outside only.

I say use it if it's all you got. Make your hunt then clean it again when you get home and re oil it with the good stuff. Gotta do whatcha gotta do sometimes. I wouldnt be missing no hunt because of it fo sho!!

Oil that ***** up and make your hunt. Clean it good when the hunt is over.

Not true. You oil it to store it. Then run some alcohol patches through it and foul it with a couple primers when you ready to shoot.

Dats right, dats right!!! But you don't oil it and shoot it. It will gum up.
Done did dat, cause I was too lazy to clean it out before shooting.
