Default Big Lake 6-25-11 Hard Luck

Hit the lake this morning with a friend of mine and it poured on us here and there all the way to west cove, some of dat stinging rain. Anyway picked a couple in there then it all just stopped, drifted around Joes Cove for the rest of the day. Ended up with 5 Specks, 2 Sandys, and 1 Red with about 25-30 11" trout couldn't catch anything with size for nothing! Water was decent but not great in Joes. Everything was caught mainly on chartreuse salty grubs and glow/chart sand eel Jr's, my podna was chunking live skrimps!

Better day than me. Nice job shaw. Pickles are more fun to reel in than a 1/4 oz jighead!

Awesome job kade. We did not do as well. I caught 3 flounder and one speck. My partner scratched. Speck was caught on crazy croaker and the flounder we caught on swim mullet. It nice to meet you at the launch.

I was out there this morning also. I/We ended with 10 reds-- all eaters. It was kinda a stuggle to catch what we got. Fishing was slow. Hit spots here and there to get our limit.

I use the manns version. Only problem is they don't make them anymore. They have a custom rod shop here in lafayette that had some left. The owner said he can get some made but had to order a min. of 1,000 per color. Sucks because the manns is alot better vs. the H&H. It is a softer plastic that has more action, they hold up good too. Catch 20 trout on them before they are toast.
