Default grand isle weekend

bad weekend in grand isle sunday and monday. Tried to fish sunday evening, dirty water everywhere. stayed out late on the fishing peir and managed a bunch of SMALL white trout, and 2 really nice specks. woke up early monday morning and tried a little bank fishing, once again, 2 more nice trout then nothing. wind was really kicking. I wont be heading down there untill at least a week of calm winds.

Thanks for the report, winds have been bad all over the coast. I am heading down there for three days next week, I hope the wind give us a chance.

Default bad trip

We just got back from grand isle today. Never seen it so rough!!! Kept 11 trout from sunday and monday. Couldn't even get to the front of the island so we fished the bay and out to bird island. No one was catching. Lots of dirty water. Caught the most behind Grand Terre and Monkey Island on fresh shrimp. When we left today the rains were rolling in hard and the surf was unbelievable. Needless to say, no long lines at the marina!!

Yeah, I had a friend from here in Gonzales go down there Saturday. They caught two specks all day! Said they fished everywhere and threw everything but the tacklebox trying to catch a fish!

Im foing Friday Morning- Sunday. Hope to go chase some snapper if the winds permit. Showing 8-12 all weekend but that will probably wind up being 15-20 by the time we get there. Trout fishing may be tough with the slack tides all week.
