Default Solo Dularge Trip 6/13/11

Made a trip down to dularge by myself yesterday. The plan was to go out of grand bayou dularge and hit the coast and throw some top water. No go on that idea, eased over to the mouth of turtle bayou where some birds were working, shrimp was popping everywhere. Nothing but gafftop under them. Hooked into a bull red, almost spooled me. Had to crank up and give chase. Got it in the boat, and he thanked me by defacating all over the deck. We said our goodbyes and he swam off. Didnt have a scale but he went 25plus. After that i pointed the boat south headed for last island, raccoon point. Caught about 30 trout to keep 10 fish, they were rather small, all caught on double rigged marsh works purple thing bayou chubs. The bite died at about 1030 so i headed in to chase some reds in the marsh. Got in some ponds around the sister lake area where the water clarity was a -2. Hooked one on the fly and saw a few others that wouldnt eat. Back on the trailer at noon. It was a nice peaceful day. Sometimes its nice just to be by yourself

How long of a run is it to the islands? Never fished there before.

6 miles out the mouth of grand bayou dularge. Its not a bad run. The enstar platform is about a mile to the west from there
