Dance thursday big lake

Well i decided to head for big lake thursday morning. The plan was to cast net out of the pirouge and catch some craps and try for fish till 2.Then go meet longcast since he had extended an invitation to meet and fish with him in his boat.Which was pretty cool of him considering we had ever met before.

Well the morning started out tough couldn't find my four foot cast net so i was stuck with a six.Got there for six once i fiqured out how to through it from the pirouge i caught about five pounds of shrimp in 20 throws and surrendered all hopes of limiting out.You realy had to chunk that thing to open it.So i through out the crab nets and caught a few blue crabs with a bunch of stone crabs mixed in.Once all the line crosser cleared out i got the poles out and started fishing.I caught quite a few black drum and one red. Then before i was about to give up i felt a sight bump then my line slacked. When i set the hook I knew i had a good one, after a couple minute battle with me trying to real the fish in and work the net at the same time.I finally got her it was a monsta. This is my second big trout in a month fishing from the bank. She was twenty eight inches long and weighted right at six when i finally got her to the scale.I was kind of surprised because the twenty six inch rout i caught a few weeks ago weighted seve poud after being dead for like six hours.one the less i was pleased.

By then it was time to go get lunch and meet longcast. We met at calcasieu point around two thirty.I was real excited to finaly get in a boat in big lake after introductions and and lauching the boat we headed north and both our first casts yeilded a fish jason got a trout and i caught a nice flounder after that we only caught one more flounder the rest of the day.But we did have a hoot running through the waves on the way to turners.I also got to see a flounder jump out the water after my bait when i pulled it up.That was pretty cool. All in all i had a great time and i got another story of catching another big trout.

Long cast thanks for the fishing man it was fun hope to do it again soon.
