Help

[downsouth]

I took my foot off to change out my water pump impeller-it was split in half- and now it is stuck in forward but had to put it in reverse to go forward, i couldn't push the throttle in forward- A mech told me to drop the foot and turn the lil gear shaft 3 time's make sure it was in neutral and put it back so i did- well now it's still stuck in forward still but the throttle goes in forward but can't go in reverse.. any suggestion??
