i seen this link on another fishing site , i guess these guys were fishing deepwater horizon when it blew his is the story, video and some pics . pretty crazy

I can only imagine being in that boat at the time. I passed by the rig that had a blow out on the I-10 Atchafalaya just as it blew and I can tell you that when it starts to go it sounds like you just passed through a jet blast. I'm sure that one wasn't near as bad as the BP rig.

i remember doing some hunting in sherburne around that time, small bits of ash were falling from the sky.

Dang, that is crazy, I know everyone likes to fish around those rigs, I really wanted to go offshore fishing but that will be a while before that happens!
