Cocodrie help!

Let me start by saying this will be my first inshore trip so I am about as green as they come at this!

I am wanting to plan a trip to Cocodrie for sometime in July and could use any help I can get...where to stay? Where to start? etc... Also, where can I get a good map of the area?

I will be pulling my 17ft bass boat down there to fish out of. Will I be ok with that smaller boat?

I would love to catch a few reds and flounder if possible this time of year. A nice bonus would be if the wife could catch some crabs and shrimp!
