Default Slow day in hopedale 10/30/10

Dad and I was at it again Saturday morning aboard the SS Backbreaker. We "cheated" and bought some live shrimp because it's his birthday and we were wanting catch a bunch to take back to OK for thanksgiving. Hit birds right at the mouth of the lake and caught several juveniles. Moved on to some of our usual points and wind picked up for a while and then died. The fish stirred a little then...So did the gnats!!!!

Dad caught a 30" red that weighed 9.4 lb and took 10 minutes to land. That was fun to watch!!!! He loves catchin them big reds!

All in all, we ended the day with the red, 9 trout(only 2 under 17"), a sheephead and a drum. Dad caught the drum and sheephead. We'll never keep either of those again!!!

I caught one trout kept on a Sand Eel, LSU and couple dinks behind that before goin back to shrimp.

I may get to post pics today if Dad comes with his camera.

Fun time yesterday and even though we didn't limit out, it beat the heck outa nomex and a welding hood!!

Tight lines fellas!!!
