They African "Mafia" uses them as enforcers. When someone owes money to an "organization", they take one of these pets to the people's home and if they can't produce the money, they turn it loose in the home of the debt holder. I had a friend who worked in Nigeria a couple of years ago and he came back telling me about this!

He said it was strange to see something like this being lead down the street!
