I made an old guy cry the other day, I was at Wal. Mart and saw an old Ranger wearing his Beret Proud, I took my kids up to him and introduced ourselves and told him I wanted my kids to meet a HERO, he thanked me and gave me a real firm handshake, and excused hisself he had tears in his eyes. When we left my son asked me why that HERO was crying, I told him that not enough people know what a true HERO is, and they need to know that they are appreciated for their Sacrifice. So yeah tell a soldier thanks, buy him/her a drink, or just talk to him/her.
That is probably what he meant...Wasn't entirely sure because there are some young soldiers that treat what they do as a joke...It's very upsetting when they are down at a restaurant/bar starting fights, giving a bad name to those that take pride in their job...Some people really have no idea what those vets REALLY have done for this country and it would be nice if they did...we have Veterans Day...I say we need veterans week or month and add something to a schools schedule to really show kids what they fought and died for...They glide through it, but don't really make it a point...They are just looked at as "old people" and it is really sad...
