Oh yeah any of the passes in October will be full of bull reds. Never done much shark fishing but I'd think your best bet for big sharks would be off the beach at night. If you can find a way to get a bloody bait like a Bonita that would be your best bet. There is a fishing pier right next to the bridge that has lights on it and I have caught many fish off of.
