A lot of people have the spray and pray way of thinking. 45 recoil is very smooth and easy to comtrol. My wife's carry gun is a Khar in 45acp and she shoots it quite well. Recoil perception does vary from person to person. If it's not fun and comfortable to shoot then a new weapon is a must. Practice makes perfect and people won't practice with a gun that intimidates them. S .22 hollowpoint in the eye works just as well as a .45
