Bridgeside Marina is usually open. Call them and see what their bait offerings should be. They may not have live bait, but frozen shrimp, crab, and mullet are likely. They are good people. They also have places to park a camper.

If there are some warm days before your drive, you may be able to find live crabs on your drive down along Hwy 1.

I see a lot of people using artificials fishing the drains and moving water along the last stretch of Hyw before the bridge to GI, also under the lights on the pier at night. I've never seen anyone really fill a cooler that way, but they catch a few fish, usually a mix of trout (sand and specs), reds, and flounder.
